CANDLELIGHT BOWL

For all the bowlers of the parish or for those who like to have fun, a candlelight bowl is held in May. Bring the family and friends.

DINNER DANCE

Timed to reflect the anniversary of the founding of St. Alphonsus, the Social Commission gives the parish a chance to dress up and kick up their heels by sponsoring a Parish Dinner Dance. Dinner, dancing, and an auction are the high points of the evening. A special committee handles the affair and the commitment is of several months duration. Many hands are needed to organize and present this event.

FASHION SHOW

Although this is a social event, special co-chairs are required to plan this event. This annual spring gala is a wonderful way to meet people, enjoy a delicious lunch, and view the latest fashions. Many helpers are needed to make this activity a success.

HOSPITALITY SUNDAYS

Usually the third Sunday of most months September through May (except during Lent). Donuts, bagels, coffee, juice and milk are served after all the Masses. This is an excellent opportunity to meet fellow parishioners. If you would like to assist in this or other Social Commission ministries, you may do so by helping in planning, set-up, takedown, serving drinks and food, or bringing food.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL

During the summer months, when a cool treat is most appreciated, the social commission sponsors an ice cream social.

OTHER DINNERS

Throughout the year, the Social Commission organizes and presents a number of dinners for various groups of the parish. A New Parishioner Dinner and a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner are one of the many events that are put on to welcome new members into our community or to thank those who so generously serve the St. Alphonsus community.

SOCIAL COMMISSION

The Social Commission represents the various committees that provide the parish with opportunities to gather at social events and Parish celebrations. The Commission assumes responsibility for fostering a welcoming spirit that invites all to participate in the life of the parish. To this end, we will provide a forum where those who worship at St. Alphonsus can gather in fellowship.
