EDUCATION COMMISSION

The St. Alphonsus Education Commission is concerned with the total educational needs of the parishioners with a focus on Christian education for Young-Adult (20-40 years of age) and older members. The Commission strives to present various opportunities for adults to reflect upon, discern and realize their commitment to follow Christ every day and in every moment of their lives. Anyone desiring to know more about the Church and how to live and help others to live their daily lives in communion with Jesus is perfect for this group.

You are invited to attend the meetings, share your interests, line up special speakers, prepare notices, attend special events, and serve as a host or hostess to other parish members.

Check the monthly Church calendar for time and place of Education Commission meetings.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

Our Extended Day Program takes place before and after school and provides a supervised, safe place for students. Play, study hall, nutritious snacks, arts and crafts, and more are all part of our before and after school care. The hours of the program are 6:30 am to 8:15 am before school and from dismissal (approximately 3:00 pm) until 6:00 pm after school.

If you are interested in supervising either before school or after school, please contact the School Office or fill out the ministry sign-up form and someone will contact you.

ST. ALPHONSUS/ST. PATRICK SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL

The School Advisory Council provides parishioners with an appropriate representative body for identifying and articulating the educational needs and aspirations of St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick's School. The council acts in an advisory capacity to the pastors and principal in formulating and evaluating policies for the Parish school. The council also monitors and provides assistance to the pastors and principal in implementing these policies.

The Advisory Council consists of a group of parishioners elected to serve three-year terms from both St. Alphonsus and St. Patrick's Parish. Parishioners of either parish and parents of children attending the school are eligible for election. All parishioners are invited to attend the meetings. Please contact the school office for more information.

ST. ALPHONSUS/ST. PATRICK SCHOOL PARENTS' ASSOCIATION

This organization of school parents is in charge of fundraising, recruiting volunteers for school functions, and the planning of educational and social activities for school families. Through the fundraising efforts, they provide the extras that go beyond the budget for St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick School and students. All school families are encouraged to attend. For more information, please contact the school office.

SHOP/MANNA PROGRAM

The St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick School participates in the SHOP/MANNA Program. This is a major fundraiser for the school and serves as a tuition reimbursement program. Certificates from major stores and many local businesses may be purchased at cost. Some stores include Chipain‘s, Totura, Jewel, Kohl's, Penny's, Kmart, United Cleaners, Lemon Tree, Wendy's, Chili's, Old Navy, Bath & Body. The list goes on and on.

These certificates make great gift ideas or can be used regularly for all your shopping needs. Help us help the school without spending any extra money. The school office has more information on this program. Also, watch the bulletin for details concerning the purchasing of certificates.
